Kasey Van Norman, author of Nothing Wasted, is no stranger to addiction. Having overcome, she now has a passion for helping others recover from addiction.

“I attempted to take my life with prescription pills, and I didn’t OD and I did live,” Van Norman says. “I have a specialty in addiction recovery, chemical dependency, and that’s the work I do right now.”

She talks about how while she and her husband, Justin, were leaders in the church, she was having an affair, and it took all her energy and strength to keep it a secret. Once the secret was exposed, she took the pills. But Justin’s response, though he was shocked, was one of forgiveness—he never left her. However, their church asked them to leave and they lost lots of friends.

“We just had to start speaking out things—Lord, we want Your will, we want healing, we want restoration, we need a do-over,” Van Norman says.
