Church of 250 People Gives Away Over $250,000

Tim Ross, lead pastor at Embassy City Church, spoke at Pastor Robert Morris’ Gateway Church about giving and generosity. In 2016, Embassy City Church in Irving, Texas, had only an average adult attendance of 250. Yet those people gave so generously to their church that Ross says they raised $253,000 to give away to other churches and people in need in their community.

Later on, when the church tried to purchase a new building, Ross says they realized they didn’t have enough money. That’s when something miraculous happened—Morris and the Gateway elders decided to buy Embassy City’s church building for them.

Ross says, “I just want to let you know our little church had given $253,000 and God gave it back to us one hundred-fold by giving us $2.5 million, and through that extravagant gift we were able to anchor ourselves in this community and provide healing and restoration in the city of Irving. I’m telling you, giving is living.”
