You Won’t Believe What This Democrat Is Saying About Orlando

Scott Harbach, a Democrat running for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin, has been making headlines ever since he announced he would be running against former Sen. Russ Feingold in the August primary election.

Now, he’s making a few more.

“Words cannot express the pain that this reckless act of terrorism has caused,” he said in response to the Islamic attack last weekend in Orlando, Florida. “I pray for those that lost their lives and the loved ones left behind by this senseless act.”

Harbach, who owns three private investigation and security businesses, expressed concern over how the FBI has handled its investigation. The agency, he said, doesn’t think it made a mistake by clearing mass murderer Omar Mateen in 2013, and by not continuing to keep him under surveillance, but the senatorial candidate begs to differ.

“Oh, they definitely made a mistake,” he said. “They clearly dropped the ball on this one. The proof is in the massacre!

“Whether they want to admit it or not, this tragedy could have been prevented if the FBI had maintained surveillance on this terrorist. We need hearings on this whole FBI investigation to find out why they messed up, and what changes must be made so it does not happen again.”

Harbach is demanding the 911 calls made by Mateen, whom he branded a “coward.” He alleges “there’s something [the FBI isn’t] telling us.”

“Let’s face it, their track record of being truthful and transparent isn’t that good,” he said. “How many times have they lied to us before?

“They told us that this was was a ‘homegrown American terrorist,’ but we found out that he is a first-generation American. His father is from Afghanistan, where he promoted an anti-American propaganda. This terrorist might be American born, but his Islamic extremism was born much earlier in Afghanistan.”

Harbach isn’t likely to win the primary, but he’s trying anyway by advancing an agenda that has been seemingly absent from the Democratic Party in decades. The three key pieces of his platform are:

  • Protecting religious freedom for individuals, businesses and religious leaders;
  • Improving race relations and police relations; and
  • Defending Americans’ Fourth Amendment-protected rights.

That’s because Harbach is an evangelical Christian who is running for office as a Democrat with the hope of restoring Christian values to his party. He’s doing it because, as he puts it, he believes in miracles.

“Somehow God has been pushed out of the Democratic Party and it has become an atheist party,” his website states. “Many Democrat voters believe in God and are discouraged because their voice and values are ignored by the party, yet they want to vote Democrat and have no other option. I am an Independent Democrat giving you the voice and representation that you have lost. I am not owned by wealthy donors or special interest groups that have stolen both parties. I am an Independent Democrat fighting for you and fighting for America, so help me God.”
