Huma Abedina and Anthony Weiner

Hillary Clinton’s Closest Aide Needs Our Prayers Right Now

Facing another round of marital infidelity by her husband, former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s closest aide, Huma Abedin, issued a statement that she was seeking a separation.

“After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband,” a statement from Abedin said on Monday. “Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what is best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy.”

The announcement came just hours after the New York Post reported Weiner had engaged in inappropriate exchanges with a woman. It included one inappropriate photo in which his and Abedin’s son was also pictured.

He had previously engaged in similar activity, which resulted in his resignation from Congress in 2011. His campaign for New York City mayor in 2013 was also hampered by claims of similar activity.

As Mark DeJesus of Turning Hearts Ministries pointed out in May, the advent of the internet and social media made access to forbidden images available at the touch of a button, which has helped pornography addiction—and other forms of sexual addiction—flourish. Christians are called to help those struggling with these problems by being “loving vessels for healing and restoration,” he wrote.

Abedin, Weiner, and their son need prayers for spiritual healing right now.
