President Trump’s Election Challenge Powered by Prayer and Legal Actions
Monday, Pennsylvania transitioned from blue to gray on the national map tracking Republican and Democrat wins by state in the presidential election. Unlike most media outlets, RealClear Politics has not called the race for former vice president Joe Biden. It shows Biden/Harris with 259 electoral votes and Trump/Pence with 214.
It takes 270 votes from the Electoral College to win the election.
Outstanding from the count are Pennsylvania, with 97% of the votes counted and Biden carrying a 0.7% lead; North Carolina, with 97% counted and President Trump leading by 1.4%; Georgia, with 99% counted and Biden leading by 0.2%; Arizona, with 98% counted and Biden leading by 0.5%; and Alaska, with 59% counted and President Trump leading by 28.6%.
“We are now in a situation where one team is standing on the podium with the trophy while the referees are still reviewing the final play that could decide the outcome of the game,” said Rob Chambers, vice president of AFA Action. “Despite multiple media outlets declaring former Vice President Joe Biden the winner of the presidential election, it is important to remember that the Constitution clearly defines that electors from each state choose the president once each state has certified its respective results. None of that has occurred. Furthermore, there is ongoing litigation in multiple states concerning the results of the election.”
“We believe that the judicial system should rule on these lawsuits and ensure every legal vote is counted before a winner is declared,” Chambers added. “Only then will Americans have faith that our election has taken place with integrity and fairness.”
The electors meet Monday, Dec. 14. Though their vote typically aligns with the popular vote, not all states require them to mirror the popular vote. Once they meet, certificates recording the electoral vote in each state must be received by the president of the Senate and the national archivist no later than Wednesday, Dec. 23, when the president-elect of the United States is officially determined.
The official results are then presented to the new Congress, which is set to meet in a joint session on Jan. 6, 2021, and announce the results.
The Trump administration is fighting election results in key states where representatives have stated that poll watchers were hindered and mysterious ballots appeared.
President Requests Prayer
Monday afternoon, President Trump requested that all Christians praying as he and his representatives went before the U.S. Supreme Court regarding legal grounds to fight the outcome of the election.
Shortly thereafter, Pennsylvania was no longer locked in as Biden won.
While attorneys lead the legal charge, the Presidential Prayer Team remains active, asking Americans to remain committed to “prayer and the biblical values upon which this great nation was founded.”
“Several states have yet to report final counts and many will be reviewing and verifying their counts over the coming weeks,” the prayer team posted. “Additionally, legal challenges may keep states from officially certifying their election results.
“While we await an official outcome, we are extending our dedicated time of prayer over the election,” the team added. “We will continue to provide daily encouragement, verses and prayers as you pray alongside fellow believers each day.”
Prayers are posted, with a counter indicating that at least 88,306 people are agreeing in prayer each day for the truthful outcome of action of 62% of the country’s eligible voters.
“As the Lord leads, pray with us that the will of the people would not be infringed upon by corruption or fraud and for God’s will to be accomplished in the outcome of the election results.”
Federal Prosecutors Clear to Investigate
Also Monday, U.S. Attorney General William Barr, through a letter, authorized federal prosecutors throughout the United State to pursue “substantial allegations” of voting irregularities before the 2020 presidential election can be certified.
Barr’s letter said allegations that would “clearly not impact the outcome of a federal election” should be delayed until after those elections for preliminary inquiries.
Recounts and investigations on behalf of the Trump administration are occurring in multiple states.
According to Doug Collins, who is leading a recount effort for President Trump’s reelection campaign in Georgia, a lawsuit was filed Wednesday to require election officials in Chatham County to separate mail ballots that are believed to have arrived late.
Biden holds a slight lead in the state.
States have until Tuesday, Dec. 8, to resolve election disputes, including recounts and court contests over results. {eoa}
