Paula White: God’s Hand and Purpose Were on Trump

Longtime Donald Trump advocate and friend Paula White says God’s hand and purpose was on the president-elect.

“There’s no way in the natural, if we were to use this terminology, that you could take a man against 17 other candidates that if we look back at the beginning of this, very qualified candidates, and then here he is, the nominee. For me, that has to be providence. That has to be the hand of God, in my opinion,” she told CBN’s David Brody earlier this year.

Six months later, with the help of Trumps’ Faith Advisory Board, the Republican won the election on the backs of evangelical voters.

Washington Post reports nearly 80 percent of white evangelical voters picked Trump in the election, according to exit polls. Furthermore, 85 percent of swing state Florida evangelicals picked Trump.

TIME reports these evangelicals comprised more than a quarter of all Americans at the polls.

“Unlike much of the political universe, Trump’s inner circle of evangelical advisers is anything but surprised at his victory,” TIME magazine’s Elizabeth Dias reports. “More than most, evangelicals cast their lot with Trump early, and like White, many of Trump key evangelical advisers were with Trump’s team on Tuesday in New York to usher in their win together. Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. talked with Trump four times on Tuesday. It was on their third phone call, while waiting for Trump at the victory party, Falwell says, that Trump realized he was about to win.”

As for White, she says she believes Trump’s victory will allow the country to unite together.

“Far more than what divides us, this election has revealed what unites us. I have never seen such solidarity between evangelicals and Catholics, Pentecostals, charismatics and Baptists. We were brought together with a mutual love for our country and through a mutual faith in God. The election started the conversation, but what will come from these new and renewed relationships will have far more impact than anything that could be realized through the election of any politician. We aren’t ending this season so much as entering a new one, ready to love the world together to a degree greater than we ever could alone
