No Resting Now: Trump Hits 3 Key Battleground States

Share:

Fresh off the heels of the FBI’s announcement that it was reopening its investigation into Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s private email server during her tenure as secretary of state, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump ramped up his campaign for the final days before the Nov. 8 election.

Over the weekend, he visited three battleground states—as well as a state generally considered “deep blue” on the Electoral College map—to take his final argument to the American people. His favorite topic: the new email revelations. But he also struck up the key differences on issues he has with his opponent: jobs and economy, taxes, Obamacare and national security.

Colorado

In the Centennial State, Trump drew several thousand Saturday to a rally in Golden—in a state that just three months earlier wanted absolutely nothing to do with his candidacy—where he talked about his pledge to end corruption in Washington, D.C. He went back to Greely, Colorado, the next day—and thousands more showed up, despite the fact the Denver Broncos had a home football game that afternoon.

Here’s what he said in the Saturday rally:

Real change also means getting rid of the corruption in Washington.

As you have heard, it was just announced yesterday that the FBI is reopening their investigation into the criminal and illegal conduct of Hillary Clinton.

This is the biggest political scandal since Watergate, and it is everybody’s deepest hope that justice, at last, can be delivered.

Hillary has nobody but herself to blame for her mounting legal troubles.

Her criminal action was willful, deliberate, intentional and purposeful.

Hillary set-up an illegal server for the obvious purpose of shielding her criminal conduct from public disclosure.

She set-up this illegal server knowing full well that her actions put our national security at risk, and put the safety and security of your children at risk.

To further cover-up her crimes, she bleached and deleted 33,000 emails after a Congressional Subpoena, made 13 phones disappear—some with a hammer, lied to Congress under oath, lied to the FBI, and then two boxes of email evidence went mysteriously missing.

She even pretended not to know that the letter “C” meant confidential information that was classified.

As the recent release of a memo from one of Bill Clinton’s closest associates demonstrates, the Clintons have turned the government into a scheme for personal profit.

The Clintons even saw the deadly disaster in Haiti as an opportunity to cash-in.

The WikiLeaks revelations have revealed a degree of corruption at the highest levels of our government like nothing we’ve ever seen before—including a candidate who boasts to donors about having a public position for the voters, and a private position for Wall Street.

Hillary put the office of Secretary of State up for sale and, if she ever got the chance, she’d put the Oval Office up for sale too.

Hillary should have been convicted long ago.

That the legal process has been taking this long is incredible.

And now it’s reported that the Department of Justice is fighting the FBI—that’s because the Department of Justice is trying to protect her.

Ninety-seven percent of Department of Justice employees’ presidential contributions went to Hillary Clinton.

There are those, and I happen to be one of them, who think Hillary offered Lorretta Lynch a reappointment as Attorney General.

Perhaps that was what Bill Clinton was doing in the secret meeting on the tarmac in Arizona.

He said it was to play golf, but he never played, and it was over 100 degrees.

This is what we mean when we call it a rigged system.

Now the Attorney General is fighting the FBI for doing what was right—but what should have been done many months ago.

Perhaps, through this other investigation, they found what may be some of the 33,000 missing and deleted emails Hillary tried desperately to destroy, even going so far as to use digital bleach.

The stakes on Nov. 8 could not be higher.

A vote for Hillary is vote a to surrender our government to public corruption, graft and cronyism that threatens the very foundations of our constitutional system.

What makes us exceptional is that we are a nation of laws, and that we are all equal under those laws—Hillary’s corruption shreds that foundational principle.

Public corruption is a grave and profound threat to a Democracy.

Government corruption spreads outward, like a cancer, and infects the operations of government itself.

If the corruption is not removed, then the people are not able to have faith in their government.

It deadens and saps the spirit of civic participation.

Corruption decays our trust in institutions and our legal system.

When the outcome is fixed, when the system is rigged, people lose hope. They detach. Our society becomes unplugged and unhinged.

When the powerful can get away with anything, because they have the money and the connections to rig the system, then the laws lose their moral authority.

Hillary believes money and power—not truth and justice—should rule the day.

As FDR once said, government by organized money is just as dangerous as government by organized mob.

This is what we often see in Third World countries—where the governments are often run by a small handful of corrupt people for their personal enrichment.

Corruption is corrosive to every institution of government, and it must be stopped.

Restoring honesty to our government, and the rule of law to our society, will be my highest priority as president.

We must save the America.

That is why My Contract With The American Voter begins with a plan to end government corruption and take our country back from the special interests.

I want the entire corrupt Washington establishment to hear and to heed the words I am about to say.

When we win on Nov. 8, we are going to Washington, D.C., and we are going to drain the swamp.

Then, on Sunday, this is what his campaign had to say about job losses in Colorado:

Colorado has suffered from the Clinton policies that sent our jobs and factories to other countries.

Colorado lost more than 100,000 manufacturing jobs since Clinton’s NAFTA and China trade deals went into effect. The Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program certifies more than 94,000 Colorado jobs have been destroyed by offshoring or surging imports since NAFTA. These numbers are a significant undercount as TAA only covers some, but not all, jobs lost to trade.

Colorado ranchers lost out too. U.S. exports to Canada and Mexico of cattleColorado’s top agriculture productfell 59 percent in the first 22 years of NAFTA.

Hillary Clinton supported the “new, improved” Korea trade deal and said it would create more exports and more jobs. In reality, the U.S. trade deficit with Korea surged $15.4 billion (99 percent). The increase in the U.S. trade deficit with Korea equates to the loss of more than 102,500 American jobs in the first four years of the deal.

After the Korea Free Trade Agreement, the U.S. trade deficit with Korea in the top 10 products that Colorado exports to Korea—including everything from metal manufacturing to machineryexploded 69 percent as exports stagnated and imports rose.

In the first four years of the Korea Free Trade Agreement, U.S. exports to Korea of corn and wheat—two of Colorado’s top four agricultural products—plummeted 57 percent and 5 percent respectively compared to the annual average of the four years before the Free Trade Agreement.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership that Hillary supports will kill many more Colorado jobs and expose Colorado to costly litigation.

The TPP would destroy lives in Colorado and across the country.

Hillary Clinton supports the TPP. Donald Trump will kill the TPP.

The TPP grants special rights to 455 foreign corporations to sue Colorado before secret international tribunals. These panels can require Colorado’s taxpayers to pay unlimited sums for the corporations’ loss of expected future profits. These foreign corporations need only convince the lawyers that a U.S. or Colorado law violates their TPP rights. Their decisions are not subject to appeal and the amount they can award has no limit.

Arizona

At a rally in Phoenix, Trump drew a crowd of 10,000—the maximum the fire department would allow—for a speech in which he lambasted the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare. He said it has decimated Arizona, and one of his first acts as president would be to repeal the law and replace it with something better.

Here’s what he said about that:

It’s just been announced that the citizens of Arizona are going to experience a 116 percent increase in their Obamacare premiums. Elect me, and we will stop the premium hikes for good. We will stop the madness of Obamacare.

Every single one of Arizona’s 15 counties is losing insurers next year because of Obamacare. In Phoenix, there are eight Obamacare insurers this year. Next year there will be only one. And it was announced this week that Obamacare premiums in Phoenix will go up 145 percent next year. One insurer in the state will have a $14,000 deductible.

Obamacare is a catastrophe for Arizona, and a catastrophe for all of America.

Even Bill Clinton admitted Obamacare is “the craziest thing in the world,” where “people wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half.”

In Minnesota, where the premium increase will be close to 60 percent, the Democratic Governor has said “the Affordable Care Act is no longer affordable.”

Jonathan Gruber, the architect of Obamacare, admitted it was all a fraud, and he said, outrageously, that it was passed because of the “stupidity of the American voter.”

Hillary Clinton wants to double-down on Obamacare, making it even more expensive.

My Contract With the American Voter outlines a plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, and I’m asking for your vote so we can save healthcare for every family in Arizona.

Nevada

In the Silver State, Trump went on the offensive about border security, saying Hillary Clinton’s goal of “open borders” would be disastrous for states like Nevada, even though it doesn’t share a border with Mexico. More than 10,000 attended the event in a state that many experts say is likely to vote for Clinton.

Here are his comments related to immigration and border security:

A Trump administration will also secure and defend the borders of the United States. And yes, we will build a wall.

Hillary has pledged “open borders,” and supports Sanctuary Cities.

Countless Americans are killed by illegal immigrants because our government refuses to do its job.

Here in Nevada, 20-year-old Brian Coursey was shot and paralyzed by an illegal immigrant. He fought for his life in the hospital for 17 days before he ultimately died. Brian was a basketball star with dreams of becoming a firefighter.

On Mother’s Day in 2009, Carson City-born 17-year-old Rene Angulo was out driving looking for a job, when he was shot in the head and murdered by a previously-deported illegal immigrant gang member. Rene was pulled from his vehicle and left to die on the side of the road. A good Samaritan who thought there had been a car accident, stopped to help and was also shot, but survived. The illegal immigrant killer had a previous conviction as an accessory to murder in Carson City.

Josh Wilkerson, whose mother I have gotten to know during this campaign, was murdered at the age of 17. Josh, a student in high school, was tortured, strangled and beaten to death by an illegal immigrant, and then his body was set on fire.

When I become President, this crime wave ends—and it ends quickly.

We will end illegal immigration, deport all criminal illegal immigrants, and save American lives.

New Mexico

To initiate his campaign’s final push—with a swing through “deep blue” states—Trump visited New Mexico to make his final case to the American voter. He also has plans to visit other Democrat-leaning states, such as Michigan, which he was scheduled to visit twice on Monday.
