Conspiracy Prophets Claim Friday’s Black Moon Is End of the World
It never fails. Fall is the time of year when the false pontificators, New Age “prophets” and shock value-driven soothsayers start coming out of the woodwork with off-the-wall presumptions, assumptions and predictions.
We saw some of them earlier this year with a rare blue moon manifestation. These lying voices were troubled about the possible rise of werewolves. We saw them the year before that with the impending doom and gloom of the red blood moon prophets.
Now, it’s a black moon. For the first time in over two years, we’re going to see a second new moon in a single month.
“The term Black Moon has several definitions, but one of the most common definitions is the second new moon in a calendar month. This is similar to the well-known Blue Moon, which is the name given to the second full moon in a calendar month,” according to Accuweather. “Since it is a new moon, it will not be a visible event as the side of the moon that is illuminated will be facing away from the Earth. The last time that two new moons fell in the same month was March of 2014.”

This has conspiracy prophets in a frenzy, pointing to Scriptures like Matthew 24:29, Luke 21:25-26, Revelation 6:12-13, and Joel 2:31 as evidence that Christ’s return is imminent.
“So why are we in the year 2016 and Jesus still hasn’t returned? Well, we need to remember that these Bible signs were not signs of Jesus’ immediate return, but rather they were signs to announce the beginning of the last days,” reads an article in Signs of the End Times.
“You could say that when these celestial signs happened, God began the final chapter of human history. And since then we have been getting closer and closer to the end of time. The signs as you can see from this site are getting stronger and we are sure to see Jesus return soon. So let’s look at the fulfillment of these Biblical celestial signs.”
No one knows when Jesus is coming back but many are getting in a tizzy over the black moon sign. Pointing to Luke 21:25-26, NowTheEndBegins.com writes:
“As Bible believers we know that the next event we are looking for is the Rapture of the Church of Jesus Christ. The glorious appearing of the Lord for His redeemed will bring about the darkest time in human history—the time of Jacob’s trouble. The verses at the top of this article refer to that time period. In the Bible, the First Advent of Jesus Christ happened on or near the Feast of Trumpets, and it is highly likely that His Second Advent will happen around that time as well.”
Scientists are discounting these theories.
“At its ‘new moon’ phase, the moon is always black. It happens at that time of the month when the moon passes through the same part of the sky as the sun and as such, the moon’s dark or unilluminated side faces Earth,” Space.com writes. “So there really is nothing to see.”
