Target, Bud Light and the End Times
Today, we live in a post-Christian culture. Today, evil is called good, and good is called evil. That’s the essence of a culture that’s upside down. While many of us believe God raised up America, let’s face it, the nation is becoming more and more evil and deserves to be judged.
Just look at what has been happening with major retailers like Target, Kohls and Bud Light. They have not only shoved down the LGBTQ agenda onto adults, but they have pushed these monstrous views onto children and infants. This agenda goes far beyond a cultural phenomenon and has direct spiritual implications as there is no way of hiding the satanic values supported by the people behind these products.
As believers we must speak up, realizing that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but “against principalities and powers.” What’s happening lines up with God’s Word regarding what would happen in the end times before Jesus returns. Many of the people involved have no idea of the spiritual implications. That doesn’t excuse their actions, but it should help us temper how we deal with what is happening in the spiritual realm.
How do we stand up against this assault against the values of the Word of God and the fact it seems all the institutions of culture are aligned against God and anyone who is trying to serve him and to speak up against spiritual wickedness? The answer is to toughen up.
We must prepare for battle if we are to survive, just as Navy Seals must toughen themselves in a way civilians don’t. Because of their training, those Navy Seals stand a better chance of surviving in a combat situation than you or I would! This is how we must prepare the battles to come in our perilous times. Part of that training is understanding the value of Scripture as life’s foundation. With Scripture as my standard, I know humans are not just hackable animals and some on the Left are saying. It seems crazy but some say that with AI technology we can “create” a new better human. In other words, we can create just like God. I go into this in my book and may address it in a future podcast or newsletter.
The Bible says that we’re made in the image of God. I know there’s only one God, and He’s not me. And I know the Bible and the resurrection of Jesus are not just shared fictions to help me behave better. Both are powerful realities in my life every single day.
Notice what the Bible says about the one “who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself as God.” He is the one “whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth, and destroy with the brightness of His presence.”
It’s amazing to see how self-centered our world has become to the point of body mutilation being promoted in the name of self-worth. This is exactly what Scripture warns about. We must be prepared. I believe everyone must go through the tribulation, or the period leading up to the reign of the Antichrist. This is something I discuss more extensively in my new book, “Spirit-Led Living in an Upside-Down World.”
My good friend, Jim Bakker, has studied the book of Revelation extensively, and has provided great warnings about what is heading our way in his book, “You Can Make It.” He says Christians should stand up against the things of the world rather than conforming to them. “The key to our survival is threefold: remain in Christ, keep His commandments and remain in His body, the church. Escape is not an option. Endurance is our goal.”
As we continue to run this race and fight the good fight of faith, we must not lose hope. The Holy Spirit will lead us and guide us so long as we lean into Him. Though the world seems to be careening toward the last days, this is not the time to become discouraged. He will never leave us nor forsake us. As Moses told Joshua, “The Lord, He goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Do not fear, nor be dismayed.” We too can live in the power and the purpose of Christ no matter what is happening in the world around us. {eoa}
