Archaeologists have discovered a gold earring dating back to the Hellenistic era in the city of David in Jerusalem, not far from the Temple Mount.

It was an exciting find, explains Dr. Yuval Gadot of Tel Aviv University’s department of archaeology and ancient Near Eastern cultures.

After processing more finds, such as the ancient pottery, the researchers hope to learn more about the identity of the people who lived in the area at the time.
