Israel Prospers Despite ‘Sharp Increase’ in Palestinian Violence
Israel has sustained a “sharp increase” in Palestinian violence in the past few months at its borders, including two deadly terror attacks in the Barkan Industrial Park and Gush Etzion, as well as attempted stabbings at Israel Defense Forces soldiers, according to a report released this week by the Ministry of Strategic Affairs and Public Diplomacy.
Between the months of September and October, encouraged by both Hamas and Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian leadership continues to publicize support for terrorism. And they have praised the recent attacks, even calling on Palestinians to launch a third intifada.
Meanwhile, Israel’s economy gets stronger by the day, its tourism sector is booming and its start-ups continue to break records and revolutionize the tech world.
On the flip side, Palestinians were called upon to conduct suicide attacks in Judea and Samaria amid the 25-year anniversary of the Oslo Accords. They also published anti-Semitic content against Israel timed to the scheduled eviction and subsequent demolition of the illegal Bedouin village of Khan al-Ahmar, which has been halted by the Israeli Supreme Court.
They are also attempting to organize a BDS campaign of the Eurovision Song Contest, slated to be held in Tel Aviv in May 2019.
“The various Palestinian factions, led by [Mahmoud Abbas] and Hamas, are constantly working to undermine Israel’s standing in the world and to promote boycotts against the Jewish state,” said Minister of Strategic Affairs Gilad Erdan. “This behavior reveals that they have not abandoned their dream of destroying Israel.”
He added that “the Ministry of Strategic Affairs will continue to expose the true face of the leaders of the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, and demonstrate that incitement and anti-Semitic attacks against Israel are continuing unabated and even intensifying.” {eoa}
