Mike Bickle Opens Up About Bob Jones’ Prophetic Word About the IHOP Leader’s Future in Ministry
Mike Bickle is on the forefront of the 24/7 prayer movement. His International House of Prayer based in Kansas City, Missouri, has touched the lives of millions through their work in prayer rooms, conferences, schools, internships and those they send out.
But what few people know is how prophet Bob Jones spoke into Bickle’s life 35 years ago about the IHOP leader’s future in ministry.
“He walks into my office in Kansas City, 1983,” Bickle tells Jim Bakker. “I’ve got this young-adult church, in my 20s. He’s about, you know, 50-60, something like that. To me he was old, real old. … He walked in, we have this vibrant young adult church. We got lawyers, doctors. We got 10 football players from the Kansas City Chiefs. We’ve got these kind of successful professionals that were doing great, doing awesome, and Bob grew up in the hills of Arkansas and skipped a few steps of education, and his language made it clear that he skipped a few steps, and he walked into my office, this one old guy, cause all our people were in their 20s, and I said, ‘Sir, my name’s Mike Bickle,’ and I put my hand out, and he did not shake my hand. He looked up … going ‘Yeap, yeap, this is what the Lord was telling me.'”
