How the Spirit Is Leading Missionaries After Hurricane Matthew

This week, our team is purchasing 10,000 lbs. of beans and rice in Port-au-Prince and trucking it to Les Cayes, a devastated port city on the southwestern coast of Haiti.

Our current plan is to travel to the hardest-hit areas to distribute food rations to hurricane victims every seven to 10 days for the next several months. As with prior disaster responses, it is anticipated that each trip will reveal additional post-hurricane relief needs for us to address.

A LiveBeyond mobile medical response unit is being assembled to travel to Les Cayes on Friday to provide emergency medical care for those affected by Hurricane Matthew.

Les Cayes is one of the main towns along the southern coast of Haiti that was devastated by the storm. An estimated 90 percent of buildings were destroyed or heavily damaged, so local medical facilities no longer have resources to care for people who are injured and suffering from infectious diseases like cholera.

One hundred percent of donations at livebeyond.org/relief directly fund our hurricane response efforts, so every cent of your donation makes an impact.
