A First Nations woman prays during the 21st annual Women’s Memorial Day March in Vancouver on Tuesday. Taking place every year on Valentine’s Day, the march is held to remember women from the city’s Downtown Eastside who have died due to physical, mental, emotional and spiritual abuse. As many as 5,000 people—the largest number to date—showed up to the event.
