Prayer Alert: Canadians Voting on Pro-Life Proposal
Lives hang in the balance in Canada.
Members of the Canadian Parliament on Wednesday are voting on Motion 312, which would lead the government to re-examine when human life begins.
The Canadian Criminal Code, Section 223 states that “a child becomes a human being within the meaning of this Act when it has completely proceeded, in a living state, from the body of its mother.”
This smacks the pro-life defintion of life at conception in the face. MP Stephen Woodworth is urging Parliament members to adopt the motion to reconsider the definition of life.
“This law, by denying the inherent worth and dignity of every human being, is the most unimaginably unjust law possible and has no place in Canada. Parliament should not treat it as frozen in time forever,” he said, according to LifeNews.com.
“I’ve heard that some Members of Parliament are wrestling with their consciences over Motion 312. I say give in to your conscience; you are only useful to your leader, your party and your constituents when you bring your conscience and your ideals to your decisions.”
Through prayer movements like TheCry, Canadians have been praying for a righteous government for years. Now, a critical vote is underway.
“On the day of Atonement, Parliament will be voting on Motion 312 that could put into law that life begins at conception,” says Lou Engle, co-founder of TheCall. “We want to support our Canadian neighbors and friends in prayer.”
