Gay Marriage Paving Way for Antichrist, Says Pastor Robert Jeffress
No man knows precisely when Jesus will be back, but if legalized same-sex marriages are any indication, pastor and author Robert Jeffress says it will be soon.
Jeffress says Christians are becoming desensitized to persecution, simply accepting, rather than fighting, when Christians who refuse to bake gay wedding cakes are labeled as extremists.
“I believe we are getting desensitized to that, which will pave the way to the future world that caters the antichrist to persecute and martyr Christians without any repercussions whatsoever,” Jeffress said.
Jeffress tackles these issues and more in his new book, Countdown to the Apocalypse: Why ISIS and Ebola Are Only the Beginning.
“Jesus did say there would be certain signs that would precede His coming, and that those signs would be like labor pains a woman experiences,” Jeffress says on The Janet Mefferd Show.
Persecution against Christians and threats against Israel have been around for millennia, but now they’re increasing in frequency.
The three major signs Jeffress points to are the rise of radical Islam; the increasing moral lawlessness, which includes everything from gay marriage to police shootings; and an increase in Christian persecution. “Paul said that in the last days, there would be terrible times, and that word terrible is a word that means to be without restraint, and I believe that’s what we’re seeing today.”
