Could Israeli-UAE Deal Point to Worldwide Awakening?
In 1979, the late President Anwar Sadat of Egypt flew to Jerusalem and broke with tradition, signing a historic peace agreement with Israel. In October 1994, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin signed another groundbreaking peace agreement with its Arab neighbors in Jordan.
On Thursday, the United Arab Emirates became the third Arab nation to have active diplomatic ties to Israel as U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the two nations have made an agreement as part of a deal to halt the annexation of occupied land sought by the Palestinians for their future state.
In announcing the agreement, President Trump said, “I believe this historical agreement will begin the process for other countries in the region to follow. This deal will allow many to visit the historic sites of Israel and to peacefully pray.”
I sat with President Anwar Sadat as the late Harald Bredesen prayed with and laid hands on him, following which President Sadat said looking around at the beautiful Nile flowing by us in Ismalia and then said, pointing to his security detail, ‘They tell me that I have to wear a vest and stay away from everyone, but God has given me a job to do, and as long as He still needs me, nothing will be able to protect me. And when that job is finished, though, even my security will not be able to protect me.’
Sadat continued by telling us the story of how he had met Christ in prison when the presence of Jesus entered his cell. Following our time with Sadat, we entered the Kubbeh Palace, where the ailing Shah of Iran lay, his wife at his side.
“As we entered the room, he suddenly sat up in his bed and cried out, ‘something has entered this room,’ whereupon his chamberlain rushed to his side and announced our visit, to which he replied with, ‘It is not them—it is a presence.’
‘We have come to bring the presence of Jesus,’ said Harald as he took the Shah of Iran’s hand, listened to him and then prayed with him to receive Christ.
The historic announcement of diplomatic relations between two sworn, historic enemies echoes bestselling author of God, Trump and COVID-19, Stephen Strang, who said, “They see [Trump’s] unprecedented, presidential support of … Israel,” and is one more of the checklist of promises made to believers on what the president would accomplish for them and a special blessing for Israel for its peace, security and blessings.
God is doing things in the Middle East that are characterized by miracles, appearances of Jesus and His presence in unprecedented, mostly unreported ways. The unprecedented agreement with the UAE just the latest of these miracles that all point to a worldwide awakening. {eoa}
