Brunson Family Issues Call For Urgent 3-Day Fast
Imprisoned missionary Andrew Brunson’s family issued an urgent call for a three-day fast, from 8 p.m. Sunday until 8 p.m. Wednesday.
“Let’s proclaim the name of the LORD over Andrew and the church,” according to a Facebook status posted last night.
Brunson, who has been in Turkish prison for more than a year, recently stood trial for terrorist charges.
Though the trial was stayed until May 7, the family continues to war in the spirit.
The family posted a picture Sunday of thousands of Brazilian worshippers lifting up their hands to pray for Brunson.
Hundreds of people from around the globe have chimed in via social media to pray for the pastor.
“I will join you in fasting and praying. I actually was receiving the same urgency to fast. God is speaking and moving!!!!” writes one person.
Another says: “I have been praying for you since Andrew’s arrest. I lived in Istanbul from 2000-2012 and was principal of the school that served many families like yours, so have a sense of connection with you. Yesterday I listened to this CD of newly discovered hymns by Fanny Crosby who was blind from infancy. They were so full of assurance, hope and encouragement in the Lord. I wish Andrew could hear these songs! I prayed for him and for all of you as I listened through the cd 3 times in a row! May the Lord give you what He gave Fanny Crosby!”
