Shot Fired Into Window of Pro-LGBT Church’s Preschool
A bullet flew through the window of a pro-LGBT church’s preschool Thursday. Thankfully, none of the 11 children were harmed, according to reports. All children were 2 years old.
Police received a call after 3 p.m. when a bullet shot through a classroom window at Allendale Methodist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Police say it appears no one shot directly into the window, but rather the bullet came from a stray shot nearby.
The church posted a statement on Facebook about the frightening incident:
The church has stirred up controversy when Pastor Andy Oliver performed a same-sex marriage earlier this year. Last year, someone vandalized the church’s sign with the words “gay pastor” when the church publicly supported Florida’s Amendment 4, which restored felons’ right to vote in the state.
Police are continuing their investigation into the bullet that pierced the preschool’s window.
