Shot 5 Times, This AG Member Miraculously Survives San Bernardino Shooting
Kevin Ortiz was one of the 17 injured in the San Bernardino shooting this week, but he easily could have been counted among the dead.
The Fontana First Assembly of God member was shot five times and began to bleed, but even then, there was something miraculous about his wounds.
“Not one bullet struck a vital organ, not one bone was broken, not one artery was hit,” says his pastor, Daniel Bielewicz. “Everyone is amazed that he survived.”
PE News reports Ortiz is a brilliant and energetic young man, who heads up First Assembly’s video department, works with the church’s youth group and got married a few weeks ago.
Ortiz worked with accused shooter Syed Rizwan Farook, who later died with his wife in a shootout against police.
Since the massacre, thousands have gathered to pray for the country. Charisma News columnist John Burton says hearts turned toward God in the wake of disaster is what we need to save America.
“While these forces tug at the fraying fabric of America, our prayers are more important than ever,” Burton writes. “And we will continue offering them—for our leaders, for the victims, and for our nation—without apology.”
