San Bernardino Victim Fled Islamic Persecution Only To Die by It in US
Two Muslims slaughtered 14 people in an attack on a San Bernardino, California, disabilities center; one of those victims fled Islamic persecution of Christians in Iran before arriving in the United States.
Benneta Betbadal sought haven in America at the age of 18 to escape Islamic extremism and the persecution of Christians that followed the Iranian Revolution, according to a gofundme page.
“It is the ultimate irony that her life would be stolen from her that day by what appears to be the same type of extremism that she fled so many years ago,” reads the page.
Betbadal wasn’t the only believer executed in the massacre, though.
Mike Wetzel was a member of Church of the Woods in Lake Arrowhead, California. When the church received news of his death, they organized a prayer of time and worship to help friends and family deal with their grief.
Messianic Jew Nicholas Thalasinos was also among the fallen.
“My husband was just a very devout believer,” his wife Jennifer said. “He became born again a couple of years ago and because of that I had a very strong faith, so I know that he’s in a much better place.
“He wanted to serve the Lord and bring more people to the Lord.”
