Robertson Family ‘Ready to Move on’ With A&E After Homosexuality Drama
The Robertson family was recently caught up in a controversy after its patriarch, Phil Robertson, made statements about homosexuality and was suspended from the hit reality series Duck Dynasty. But his son Willie Robertson says the family is ready to move forward.
Robertson and his wife, Korie, told Bill Hemmer and Elisabeth Hasselbeck in an interview with Fox News that everything is good between his family and the A&E network.
“We’re just glad to get back to work, A&E and us are fine,” Robertson said. “The Robertsons, we are looking forward to getting back to making some funny shows and it’s a new year, so we are ready to break in a new year and start it all over again.”
The network suspended Phil Robertson on Dec. 19, the day after an interview with GQ magazine was published in which he made remarks about homosexuality. He was reinstated Friday.
Willie Robertson said his family is are excited about the episodes they have already filmed for the upcoming fifth season.
“You know we are ready to move on,” he said. “I think we all learned a lot and we are just ready to move on and the family is happy and we are ready to go.”
Korie Robertson agreed with her husband, and said she’s glad the family can continue to work together.
“The best thing about the show is we get to do it together as a family,” she remarked.
