All schools in Los Angeles, the second largest school district in the United States, were closed on Tuesday after officials reported receiving an unspecified threat to the district and ordered a search of all schools in the city.

Pastor With Top-Secret Military Clearance Accused of Murdering His Fiancee

Just over a year ago, Rev. William C. Pounds III embraced a “future as rich as their long history” when he stepped up to lead Kings Chapel Memorial CME Church.

Now, the Georgia pastor is accused of murdering his fiancee. A jury indicted Pounds earlier this month, who is charged with malice murder, felony murder and aggravated assault

Bibb County prosecutor Jonathan Adams told the court Pounds was living a “double life,” according to The Telegraph.

In addition to his role as a pastor, Pounds is a senior master sergeant in the Air Force, The Telegraph reports.

When Pounds’ fiancee Kendra Jackson’s death was first reported, it was ruled as a suicide. In August, police been investigating it as “suspicious.”

The Telegraph reports Adams asked character witnesses if they were aware Pounds was engaged to two women at one time.

Adams said Pounds’ military background has given him training to “operate in austere, difficult and dangerous environments” and “escape and evade law enforcement efforts to bring him” to court, The Telegraph reports.

Despite the concerns and Adams’ evidence, many in the community and especially in his congregation “truly believe he is innocent,” Pound’s sister tells The Telegraph.
