Man Poses as Pastor, Smuggles Drugs Into North Carolina Prison in His Bible
A man disguised as a pastor smuggled drugs into jail by hiding them in his Bible.
The Scotland County (North Carolina) Detective Division posted the incident to their Facebook page.
James A. Morman III was identified as the fake pastor and delivered the contraband to inmate Bryson Brown.
WBTW, a North Carolina-based CBS affiliate, reports Morman, a former Scotland County inmate, was previously convicted of assault inflicting bodily injury and common law robbery.
“Just when you think you have heard and seen it all,” says Scotland Co. Sheriff Ralph Kersey on Facebook. “A person shows up tonight at the Scotland County Detention Center impersonating a pastor to visit an inmate. In his Bible he had concealed narcotics. Yes you can visit and also stay for awhile. Thank you and Happy New Year! Great job Scotland County Detention Officers!”
Kersey frequently posts devotions and Scriptures to his Facebook page.
