How You Can Access Heaven on Earth Right Now
As believers, we don’t have to wait to experience the joys of heaven, says author and blogger Jonathan Brenneman. After an intense study of Hebrews 9 and 10, Brenneman says Christ- followers can enter the Most Holy Place when we approach God’s throne of grace.
“When I was reading the book of Hebrews several years ago, I realized it teaches that part of the message of the gospel is that we have present access to heaven,” Brenneman said on a recent episode of “Charisma Connection” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “It says in Hebrews 10 ‘therefore brothers and sisters, since we have the confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart with the full assurance that the faith brings.’
“When it says, ‘we have the confidence to enter the Most Holy Place,’ Hebrews isn’t speaking of the Jewish temple but the same Most Holy Place that Jesus entered: heaven itself. So, when we approach God’s ‘throne of grace,’ we enter heaven. We enter heaven through the body of Christ, which is the veil that was torn. We have present access to the peace, the joy, the love and the goodness of God that permeate heaven.’
“Psalm 16:11 says that ‘in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.’ Therefore, we have access to God’s presence now.”
