Heath Mooneyham Apologizes, Resigns From Church After DWI Charge

Heath Mooneyham, pastor of “America’s manliest church,” has stepped down from the pulpit after an arrest for driving while intoxicated.

During Sunday morning service, the tattooed, 36-year-old Mooneyham gave up leadership of Ignite Church in Joplin, Missouri, with an apology: “My actions and behavior have led to grief and disappointment for my family, Ignite Church and the people of Joplin. For that I am truly sorry.”

Unfortunately, this story is all over the secular media, and folks aren’t being so kind. You can watch his heartfelt apology below, but as you do watch it with mercy and compassion—and pray for the man.
