Former Presidential Candidate Michele Bachmann to Speak at ‘The Return: National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance’

Former presidential candidate and congresswoman Michele Bachmann will speak this Saturday at “The Return: National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance, addressing tens of thousands of Christians convened at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., and livestreaming the landmark gathering of the American church.

“The Return” is a grassroots movement led by dozens of internationally renowned faith leaders who are calling on America to turn back to the God of the Bible in order to give the next generation an America that is truly “one nation under God.”

Bachmann joins “The Return” out of concern for the next generation. She entered public service to reverse the downward spiral of America’s morals shown on the television screen and in her children’s public school curriculum. Alarmed, she became active in her local school and eventually ran for office to slow America’s moral decline. Now, with “The Return,” Bachmann is calling like-minded Christians to repent and commit to biblical morality.

As a mother and foster parent, Bachmann says her primary concern is for the next generation and what they are exposed to through the entertainment industry.

“If you look at the movies that are available on a plane, the movies that are available on Netflix—if you look at Amazon, or the offerings on TV channels—it causes your heart to take a deep pause,” Bachmann said.

America’s addiction to lewd entertainment is just one example of the slippery slope of America’s demise, but it represents one that may be a point of no return if it is not stopped. Once exposed, the young cannot be unexposed to evil, Bachmann points out.

Illicit content “alters the brain for a little child,” Bachmann said. “That’s what we really need to be concerned about—what our little kids are ingesting, and it’s not good.”

The latest example of the entertainment industry’s seared conscience is the Netflix show Cuties, which follows the story of scantily clad young girls who are taught how to twerk.

Bachmann will be speaking on “Repentance of the Church” at “The Return” on Saturday, Sept. 26, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The landmark gathering will amplify “The Return” movement’s call for all pastors, churches and families from every denomination and background to lead the United States in turning from sin back to God.

America’s moral decline, evidenced by the entertainment industry’s pandering of offensive images and themes makes “The Return” the ideal setting for Bachmann to communicate her passion for biblical morality. New York Times bestselling author Jonathan Cahn, who serves as co-chair of “The Return” with Pastor Kevin Jessip, says that the timing for America to return to a righteous foundation is right now.

“This is the most critical time,” Cahn said. “It is crucial! If ever I sounded the shofar, it is now.

“America is in a time of shaking, but there is hope,” Cahn continued. “The Bible gives an answer to the question ‘Is there any hope?’ The only answer is revival, and revival only comes through repentance. This is what God meant when he said, ‘If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.'”

“The Return” is set for 40 days before the presidential election, and on the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower, in the days of America’s founding and dedication to God. Surrounding the “The Day of Return” on Sept. 26 at the Washington Mall will be 10 days, known from ancient times as the Days of Awe, to be set as a special time of prayer and repentance from Sept. 18-28.

An exciting worship and prayer service, for youth and all ages, called “The Return: Next Generation” is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 25 from 6-9 p.m. ET, leading up to “The Return” on Saturday. The special service will honor military and law enforcement, and Mike Lindell will be launching his new national addiction Lindell Recovery Network. National music artist Danny Gokey will be leading worship, and a moving keynote message will be given by Nicky Cruz.

Christian leaders from across the country support of “The Return” include Pastor Kevin Jessip and bestselling author Jonathan Cahn (co-chairs), Mike Lindell, Michele Bachmann, Pat Boone, Dr. James Dobson, Mark Gonzales, Robert Morris, Marcus Lamb, John Kilpatrick, Pierre Bynum, Gen.
