Ex-Pastor Gets ZERO Jail Time for Sexually Abusing Minor
A former pastor with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, William C. Robinson, is not receiving any jail time after pleading guilty to one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, one count of sexual assault of a child and three counts of indecency with a child.
Robinson entered into a plea deal with prosecutors where he plead guilty and received 10 years’ probation, 120 hours of community service and must take parenting classes. He must also register as a sex offender.

As reported by KRIS 6 News Corpus Christi, Texas, “According to his indictment, Robinson sexually abused an underage family member between July 11, 2015 and June 27, 2022. The arrest affidavit states the sexual contact with the child began when she was nine.”
When Robinson’s 10 years of probation are over, he will be able to have the charges expunged from his record, according to his plea deal.
According to Chi Alpha’s website, “Chi Alpha is sponsored by the Assemblies of God (AG). That means the AG provides each local campus with support, resources and connectivity to a larger worldwide movement.”
This is another tragic chapter in the horrific story that has unfolded out of the Chi Alpha ministry.
As reported by The Christian Post, Chi Alpha “ministry organizers were accused of allowing Daniel Savala, a 67-year-old itinerant minister and convicted sex offender, to prey on young males for more than two decades.”
With these shocking accusations coming to light, one student from Sam Houston State University has stepped forward and filed a $1 million lawsuit against a multitude of groups to include The General Council of the Assemblies of God, South Texas District Council Assemblies of God, Inc., also known as South Texas District Council Assemblies of God, Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, USA and Chi Alpha Campus Ministries Huntsville, according to Fox 26. The student alleges that he was sexually abused by Savala during his time at Chi Alpha.
In an email to KRIS 6 News, Mark Forrester, the director of communications and public relations for the Assemblies of God, stated that “Robinson has not held credentials with the Assemblies of God since 2022 and has not served with Chi Alpha since that time.”
During this difficult season for the victims of these predators, the Chi Alpha ministry and the AG as a whole, voices have called for change and accountability, to the point of some pastors leaving the denomination over their disagreement with how leadership has handled the accusations.
One former AG pastor, J.R. Armstrong of Mauriceville All Gospel Church in Orange, Texas, put this to a vote and the result saw his congregation to disaffiliate from the Assemblies of God.
“Considering the current crisis being faced by this district and fellowship, the board decided that recommending disaffiliation was in our best interest because systematic sexual abuse within this district and others was known dating back to at least 2018,” says Armstrong at a meeting with the South Texas Assembly of God network.{eoa}
