As the race for a coronavirus vaccine continues, so do discussions about who should be first to receive it. Initial conversations show healthcare workers at the top of the list.
The debate is similar to a question the disciples asked Jesus about who would sit at His right and left, who would have those closest, favored seats. In the Gospels of Mark and Matthew, Jesus responds by saying that whoever would be great among them must be a slave to all (see Matt. 23:11; Mark 9:35). Servant leadership.
With Christian values not being the springboard for how the vaccine will be distributed, questions are arising as to how people will be categorized, even valued.
Will the vaccine be sold to the economically privileged?
Will the vaccine be pushed on citizens who don’t want it?
Will it first be distributed to those in political power?
To the Church: Recover the Priority of the Gospel
When it comes to our greatest priority as followers of Jesus, it’s this simple: We are here to know God and to make Him known. Or, put another way, our highest calling is to be disciples and make disciples. Nothing matters more than this.
As expressed by Jesus in the Great Commission (not the Great Suggestion), “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matt. 28:18-20).
This is the command. This is our sacred mission.
And while it is hardly the only thing we do, the Great Commission must be our primary goal.
Tucker Carlson Slams Officials Who Defy Their Own Lockdown Orders
When an order by a governor or mayor is said to be “based on science,” the phase suggests it can’t be argued against. However, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson is accusing multiple elected officials of using the pandemic to gain unnecessary control—to steal American liberties.
In his opening monologue Monday, Carlson said: “America is locking down again. In some places, that’s already happening. If you have kids, you’ve seen it. Joe Biden has promised more of it—more masks, more quarantines, more limits on travel, more restrictions on who you can eat with and who you can touch. The most intimate details of our lives are being completely controlled by our leadership class. The people who used to scream at politicians, ‘Keep your hands off my body!’ aren’t saying a thing about this. In fact, they’re encouraging it.”
What’s Behind It All?
In a letter to President Donald J. Trump dated Oct. 25, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò said “the fate of the whole world is being threatened by a global conspiracy against God and humanity.”
In the letter, the archbishop exposes a global plan called the Great Reset. He refers to it as an evil, powerful and organized effort constructed by a global elite to subdue humanity by drastically limiting individual freedoms. {eoa}
