Christian Network Offers Help, Hope With Opioid Addiction Special
Cornerstone Television Network WPCB-TV40, Pittsburgh’s home for Christian television, will be airing a live one-hour special addressing the opioid crisis in Western Pennsylvania.
The television special, “Real Answers: Opioid Addiction” will be live on the Cornerstone Television Network July 20, 2018, from 8 to 9 p.m. ET. Special guests include licensed drug counselors and rehabilitation clinic leaders who will be focusing on strategies and advice for the families and loved ones of addicts. Live calls, texts and emails will be taken during the program, connecting callers to our in-house phone line for prayer and ministry.
“Pennsylvania is in crisis; so many people are dying due to overdose. Now more than ever, we need to be talking about addiction and how the loved ones of those afflicted can help save their families,” stated Cornerstone President and CEO Don Black.
According to the Center for Disease Control, Pennsylvania had the nation’s fourth-highest rate of drug overdose deaths in 2016. In the United States, the overdose mortality rate has risen 21.5 percent from 2015 to 2016, with the numbers steadily climbing.
“Real Answers: Opioid Addiction” is the first of a five-week live summer series for Cornerstone Network. Each week focuses on real answers for real life, with topics such as relationships, men, healing, and more. The series airs Friday evenings from 8 to 9 pm ET on Cornerstone Television.
