In the wake of the horrific San Bernardino, California, shooting, a team of chaplains from the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team is on site to provide emotional and spiritual care.

The chaplains, who live in California, were in San Bernardino within hours of the shooting, providing a ministry of presence to family members of the victims. At least 14 people were killed and 17 injured in the mass shooting—the deadliest one in the U.S. since Sandy Hook.

“Please join me in praying right now for each one of the injured, the victims’ families, and the first responders,” Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) president Franklin Graham said Wednesday.

Jack Munday, international director of the Rapid Response Team, said, “Our hearts are broken for those who lost their lives, and particularly their families, following this shooting. We’re sending in a team to encourage the community, offering love, hope and support. A tragedy like this affects everybody.”

The San Bernardino response is the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team’s third shooting-related deployment since October. Chaplains were on site at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, in October and just completed an internationally-coordinated effort in Paris following the terrorist attacks there on Nov. 13.

Please pray for all those affected by this tragedy.
