Author Stephen E. Strang Looks Forward to Senate Confirmation of Trump’s SCOTUS Pick
Judge Amy Coney Barrett concluded her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee last Wednesday—and now, the committee is set for a panel vote on her Supreme Court nomination this Thursday, Oct. 22. The full Senate will then consider the nomination on Friday, Oct. 23.
As Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., told reporters a few days ago, “We have the votes.” He has been clear about moving swiftly to confirm Barrett to the High Court. Senate Republicans hold a 53-47 majority—and they believe that Barrett, once confirmed, will forge a strong path as a conservative, religious woman who opposes abortion. “There is nothing wrong with confirming to the Supreme Court of the United States a devout Catholic, pro-life Christian,” noted Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo.
Says Stephen E. Strang, founder of Charisma Media and author of the compelling new book God, Trump and COVID-19, “I applaud President Donald Trump for nominating Amy Coney Barrett, who showed herself highly intelligent and poised in spite of partisan attacks. The Senate should move quickly to ratify her nomination.”
Adds Strang, “I believe that what the president said earlier was true: He ‘rightly acknowledged’ that he and other elected Republican officials have an ‘obligation, without delay,’ to fill the vacancy created on the High Court. Trump always displays his keen leadership instincts. This is yet another example of Trump’s employment of those God-given skills.”
Strang also says, “As I’ve written about in God, Trump and the 2020 Election, Donald Trump has probably been one of the staunchest defenders of religious liberties and freedoms we have seen. He also makes it no secret that he has an evangelical council that meets with him periodically, ministers to him, advises him and at times even lays hands on him and prays over him, something I also point out in the book. By selecting Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court, Trump has acted with his conservative beliefs and his firm ‘faith in America’ in mind,” adds Strang.
Importantly, Strang—who has written authoritatively about this president for years—says as well, “Trump is a true leader, and the election this year is so important for Christians and for people of all faiths. The president is a champion of our belief in God and of returning us to the foundation of our freedoms in this country.”
Stephen Strang’s newest book is God, Trump and COVID-19, a dynamic follow-up to his earlier book, God, Trump and the 2020 Election. The new book, in addition to sharing important insider information about China and the coronavirus, addresses a key question for Christians: “Where is God in all this?”
God, Trump and COVID-19 is published by FrontLine, an imprint of Charisma House, which publishes books that challenge, encourage, teach and equip Christians. The book is available in hardcover, paperback and e-book formats at stevestrangbooks.com. {eoa}
