Atheistic Prayer Police Outraged Over This Image

While some schools are replacing football chaplains with “life coaches,” others are still battling over prayer before the game.

When a photo turned up showing Seminole High School football players on their knees in prayer in response to a teammate’s in-game injury last week, it sparked a controversy in Florida’s Seminole County that just won’t die.

Who’s behind it? Atheists, of course.

The hubbub started when the Freedom From Religion Foundation, an atheist group based in Wisconsin, saw the picture and sent a cease-and-desist letter demanding the school do away with its volunteer team chaplain because it violates the Constitution.

“Seminole High School does not have a team chaplain,” Mike Blasewitz of Seminole County Public Schools, told WFTV.com. “There is nothing to cease and desist, because our behavior was within the guidelines in the first place. No adults in the photo, no adults participating, no adults leading it.”
