Brothers in Christ Carry on Unholy Battle for Christianity’s Holiest Site

The site where many Christians deem to be their holiest—where Jesus was crucified, entombed and resurrected—seems to be encountering the opposite affect of the peace Jesus had envisioned.

In a situation that has carried on for centuries, Egyptian Coptic monks and Ethiopian Orthodox monks continue to be embroiled in a conflict over control for a small monastery built on the roof of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the site where it is believed Jesus suffered, died and then rose again.

And according to DNYUZ, the site has become one of “petty quarrels that occur on a near-annual basis, and sometimes the quarrels boil over into violence.

‘Nefarious’ Movie Depicts Very Real ‘Demonic Takeover of America’

As faith and family-friendly films continue to grow and develop, unique subgenres are emerging, with the new film “Nefarious” exemplifying one such evolution.

The horror film is an R-rated thriller but with a spiritual aim: helping the viewer understand real-life evil exists—and that the battles described in Scripture are very real and palpable.

“On the day of his scheduled execution, a convicted serial killer gets a psychiatric evaluation during which he claims he is a demon, and further claims that before their time is over, the psychiatrist will commit three murders of his own,” the synopsis reads.

Evangelism ‘Giant’ George Verwer Dies at 84

March CM CoverGeorge Verwer, founder of Operation Mobilization and whom Franklin Graham called a “giant in the world of evangelism,” passed away peacefully on Sunday at the age of 84 from Sarcoma cancer, surrounded by family members and loved ones.

Verwer was well known and admired for his passion for making disciples of all nations. In 1960, he married Drena Knecht, and the two moved to Spain. While in Europe, Verwer smuggled Bibles into Communist-controlled countries, where he was arrested and deported.

While in Vienna, Austria, he climbed a tree and saw a group of young people boarding a bus and it was in that moment that the name Operation Mobilization came to his mind for ministry, a ministry with the idea of mobilizing “busloads” of young people into mission. {eoa}
