Former Leaders at IHOPKC to Start New Church
Some of the former leaders of International House of Prayer Kansas City (IHOPKC), are looking to begin a new church called “Sanctuary Church.”
As The Roys Report noted, Isaac and Morgan Bennett and Matt Candler filed for the Incorporation of the Church on April 18. Isaac and Morgan Bennett were pastors of IHOPKC’s Forerunner Church and Candler was the president of IHOPKC’s university.

In the articles of incorporation, the assets are listed as being distributed between Hope City and Tikkun Ministries if the church was to dissolve. However, Tikkun Ministries does not know why or desire to be listed as a beneficiary.
Ron Cantor of Tikkun Ministries told The Roys Report that “We will be requesting that our name is removed from the document, as we are in no way involved in the establishment of this new entity.”
Tikkun Ministries is also calling for a third-party, independent investigation into the clergy sexual abuse case of IHOPKC’s founder, Mike Bickle.
Forerunner Church celebrated their last service on Pentecost Sunday where Pastor Isaac Bennett discussed his appreciation for all members of the church in that especially painful, final season.
“I just recognize that this has been a very painful season. It’s been marked by very painful events for different ones and for those in this community,” Bennett said during the service.

As ministries have been shaken lately following scandal and heartache, this is the moment for the body of Christ to pray and seek the face of the Lord with a repentant heart, ready for whatever new direction He wants to lead us toward.
