Whose Report Will You Believe? The One From Jesus or the White House?
Enjoy the times that you are able to spend with family and friends now, because things are starting to get really crazy out there. The official beginning of winter is upon us, and just in time there is a frightening new COVID variant that is scaring the living daylights out of politicians all over the planet.
Of course, those deeply frightened politicians are going to respond to this new threat just like they have responded to every other chapter of this crisis so far. They are going to spend even more money; they are going to relentlessly promote the injections that the big pharmaceutical companies are pushing; and they are going to impose more absurd authoritarian measures.
Needless to say, that means that this is going to be a really bad winter for the entire globe.
What Donald Trump Said About Jesus Christ and America’s Future in Robert Jeffress’ Church
Delivering prepared remarks for Pastor Robert Jeffress at First Baptist Church in Dallas this past Sunday, former president Donald Trump said, “Our country needs a Savior right now. And our country has a Savior. And it’s not me. It’s somebody much higher up than me. Much higher.” Yes, much, much higher, indeed. Can we say “Amen” to that?
The truth be told, the Savior is on a completely different level than Donald Trump (or any other world leader, or human being, for that matter).
He is not just much, much higher up. And greater. And wiser. And holier. And more powerful. He is infinitely higher up. And greater. And wiser. And holier. And more powerful.
Redeeming Christmas From Today’s Cancel Culture
I love the Christmas season. I love the lights, the Christmas trees, the nativity scenes and the beautiful Christmas hymns glorifying Jesus that you sometimes hear even at Walmart.
But this past week I talked with a Christian brother who informed me that he and his church do not celebrate Christmas. The reason he gave was that Dec. 25 was originally an ancient pagan holiday.
I consider this a lame excuse and one that does not recognize the redeeming power of our Lord. Does not Jesus take poor hell-bound sinners, redeem their lives and make them His witnesses and instruments of his grace? Can He not do the same with a pagan holiday? {eoa}
