Spirit-Filled Pastor: Woe to Those Who Call Evil Good

The title of this article comes from the oft-quoted Isaiah 5:20 (NKJV): “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil.” Isaiah’s “woe” was designed to awaken and convict the nation to turn back to God before the hammer dropped. Sadly, that didn’t happen. A lack of fear, repentance and reverence for God led to physical and spiritual judgment.

In the Bible, the word woe carries the idea of impending judgment brought on by the wrath of God in sin. It signifies overwhelming grief, sorrow, and regret, accompanied by suffering.

The word woe adds a power-packed punch to what the prophet Isaiah is vocalizing. In essence he is saying, “Listen, this is serious! If you don’t heed my advice, the judgment and justice of God will fall, and the hammer will hit hard.

Jonathan Cahn: How a Leader From 1630 Prophesied the Judgment of 9/11 on America

John Winthrop is often called “the grandfather of America.” In 1630, he crossed the Atlantic and prophesied the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:14 over America, saying, “We shall be a city on a hill.”

According to New York Times Bestselling author Jonathan Cahn, the prophecy doesn’t stop there.

Cahn paraphrases the rest of Winthrop’s prophecy, “If we follow God, we will be the most blessed people in the world. We’ll be the most prosperous, the most powerful.

Why America Needs Gideons and Rahabs to Answer God’s Call to Leadership

On December 14, 2016, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich gave a noteworthy address at the National Defense University (NDU), an institution of higher learning funded by the U.S. Department of Defense to facilitate high-level education, training and professional development of national security leaders.

NDU operates under the guidance of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

“The greatest challenge facing America is not money,” Speaker Gingrich noted, “but thinking. You have to get it in your head, the current system is broken.” Then, using the Allied invasion at Normandy on June 6, 1944, as an example of the magnitude of the lift required that would reestablish the Judeo-Christian foundation and biblically based culture established by the American Founders, he said: “Eisenhower had concluded that we could not afford to be pushed off the beach, that this was the one great opportunity to liberate Europe and that we would not have the nerve to try again if it failed. If you look at the planning for Normandy, it is this, only an American system at its peak could have done this.” {eoa}
