How This Spirit-Led Media Company Is Carrying Out Jesus’ Matthew 28 Mandate
John Herring is a firm believer of Proverbs 27:17, which says “iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of a friend.” He values that scripture so much that his company, Iron Stream Media, derived its name from that passage.
And every piece of material the company produces—whether it be children’s books, Bible study materials, books about spiritual growth or spiritual warfare or online small group studies—is geared toward carrying out Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:19 which says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
“Our desire is to be disciple makers,” Herring said on a recent episode of “Charisma Connection” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “Our tagline is ‘making disciples as we go.’ Making disciples means making friends, not only converts, but to show others how to just be Christ in the world.
“Our full purpose is we want to produce and provide Christian materials for churches and others, and make disciples as we go. We have several different imprints, but we all have the same vision and mission for discipleship.”
Iron Stream Media recently added an imprint called Ascender, which produces materials especially for spirit-filled churches.
