Will Roe v. Wade Be Overturned This SCOTUS Term?
With Supreme Court justices beginning to hear arguments in this year’s most significant court cases, pro-life warriors are praying this will be the term Roe v. Wade is overturned for good. Advocates estimate that since 1973 more than 60 million babies’ lives have been taken as a result of legal abortion in America.
Author and national radio host Dr. Michael Brown says this sobering and disgraceful number is evidence of a militant pro-abortion agenda that is permeating the United States. In his new and popular book, Jezebel’s War With America: The Plot to Destroy Our Country and What We Can Do to Turn the Tide, Brown says that the spirit of Queen Jezebel, an incredibly evil and demonically controlled woman from the Bible, is still operating in America today and is evident through this death-culture agenda.
With the additions of conservative justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, those defending the lives of the unborn see the possibility that 2020 will be the year legalized abortion in America becomes a thing of the past. For instance, Bloomberg recently reported, more abortion cases are heading to the highest court, and conservatives could signal their intentions on how they will rule in the coming months. Last week, The Atlantic also reported that a major Louisiana case could limit abortions without overturning Roe v. Wade.
Regardless of SCOTUS decisions that will be announced in June, Brown says the militant pro-abortion agenda he writes about in Jezebel’s War With America is becoming more pronounced, even in spite of state laws over the past year to protect the unborn.
“Abortion was the No. 1 cause of death worldwide in 2018, with more than 41 million children killed before birth,” Brown writes in Jezebel’s War With America. “Our nation has aborted nearly 61 million babies since 1973, almost equal to the combined populations of Peru and Venezuela and more than the population of England. What kind of wickedness is this? Yet for many Americans, this is a hidden sin, something done behind closed doors in a ‘women’s health clinic’ or the like, out of sight and out of mind. And as our hearts get harder and harder, we have less and less problems with even the most extreme forms of abortion, particularly late-term abortions.
“Yes, there are women who have agonized over the decision to abort their baby,” he continues, “and years later they still feel grief and regret. We need to reach out to women—and men—with compassion, offering them forgiveness, hope and restoration through the cross. But I am not focusing on them in Jezebel’s War With America. I am focusing on the women who scream for their ‘right’ to abort their babies. I am focusing on those who view the child in the womb as an intrusion, a tumor to be removed, a clump of cells to be expelled. I am focusing on those for whom abortion is a convenient method to dispose of the results of a one-night stand, on those who have imbibed a baby-killing spirit. This is the spirit of Jezebel. And while God loves these women and offers them forgiveness in Jesus, they must turn from their sinful ways and repent. They are hardening their hearts against the Lord.”
For the pro-abortion camp, Brown says, abortion is “no big deal,” described as “normal” and “common.”
“To them, abortion is just another medical procedure, no different than removing a cancerous growth or getting an appendectomy or going to the dentist,” he writes. “No big deal. Nothing to do with morality. Just like dealing with a bad appendix. Or a bad tooth. Get rid of that unnecessary thing and toss it away. Done! I hope we realize abortion is just as much an assault on innocent life to slice up a baby in the womb as it is to slice up a child outside the womb. Little wonder, then, that the pro-abortion camp is now talking about justification for infanticide. Why not?”
This camp, however, fails to consider the millions of women who had abortions and have lived with pain and regret ever since.
“Some of the most unforgettable, gut-wrenching calls I have ever received in the history of my radio broadcast have been from listeners who had abortions in years past,” Brown says. “Women have called in and broken down sobbing while recounting abortions they had 30 or even 40 years ago. The memory still haunts them. Even men have called in weeping to talk about taking their girlfriends to have abortions. They know God has forgiven them, but the memory still stings.”
Brown specifically remembers a call from an anonymous Christian woman working at Planned Parenthood but experiencing great conflict. By God’s grace, she never went back to her job and has an amazing story of redemption to tell. But as the manager of an abortion clinic, she witnessed firsthand what happened to those mothers leaving her building minus the babies who were previously in their wombs. The last thing they wanted to do was “shout their abortions,” which is what the current climate calls for.
“Worst of all,” Brown recalls, “this woman had nightmares about the POC room—or ‘products of conception,’ such a sterile name from such murderous results—where babies were pieced back together after abortion to make sure all their body parts were accounted for. She witnessed how women’s abortions did not go as smoothly as the public is led to believe. I don’t know how anyone could hear her sobbing on the radio while talking about this without being moved.”
The good news, Brown reports, is that more and more Americans are waking up to the evil of abortion, including abortion providers, from doctors to nurses to security guards. And many women who had abortions have become pro-life champions.
“The bad news is that abortion on demand could be largely eradicated from our land if God’s people simply got involved,” he said. “What then can we do? We should first repent for our corporate hardness and indifference. Then we should get involved however we can—from praying to supporting pro-life clinics to sharing the gospel in front of abortion mills to running for office to voting for pro-life candidates to adopting unwanted babies and more. And we should offer God’s mercy to all those guilty of the sin of abortion. The blood of Jesus can cleanse this ugly stain, too.
“But let us not lose sight of the urgency of the hour and the magnitude of our sin,” Brown added. “Our heavenly Father hears the silent cries of these slaughtered little ones, and as their sliced-up, burned-up and torn-up body parts pile up in trash bins—or, worse still, are sold for profit. The cry of their blood is constant and penetrating and unrelenting. How much longer will the Lord restrain His anger? Jezebel must be defeated.”
Jezebel’s War With America focuses on the fact that the spirit of the biblical figure Jezebel is at work today, through a fascination with witchcraft and sorcery, radical feminism coupled with the extreme pro-abortion movement, along with other spiritual and cultural forces in an attempt destroy America. Brown’s eye-opening book not only unveils a satanic plot, beginning with an all-out assault on the church, but it will equip every believer with tools to defeat the enemy in their own personal lives as well as in the nation. {eoa}
