WATCH: Tearful Russell Wilson Glorifies God for Seahawks’ Fourth-Quarter Comeback
The Seattle Seahawks made an impressive fourth-quarter comeback Sunday against the Green Bay Packers that reduced their quarterback to tears.
Photos of Russell Wilson sobbing hit the Internet almost immediately, but the real reason for the crying wasn’t necessarily the joy of the win or because his team will now face the New England Patriots come Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1. Instead, the reason lies in his heart.
Wilson is passionate about his Christianity since Jesus appeared to him in a dream when he was a teenager.
“I had a dream that my dad passed away and that Jesus came into the room and he was basically knocking on my door, saying, ‘Hey, you need to find out more about Me,'” Wilson told Seattle’s CBS affiliate.
Now Wilson is a vocal advocate for his faith, using his platform to share the gospel on a national stage.
