VidAngel Wants to Partner With Global Road After ‘Show Dogs’ Edits
VidAngel, the market-leading entertainment app owned by 8,000 American families, is empowering parents to filter language, nudity, violence and other innapropriate content from movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO. Through VidAngel Studios, the company is now also offering clean, uplifting original content.
Today, VidAngel CEO Neal Harmon has issued a statement in response to the decision by Global Road Entertainment to remove objectionable sexual material from its movie “Show Dogs” in response to concerns raised by parents across America:
“Global Road Entertainment has earned the appreciation of many families for responding to their legitimate concerns. Because VidAngel exists to empower parents to filter content they deem inappropriate for their children, rather than just content that makes headlines, we believe this incident presents a natural opportunity to forge a relationship and work together. We would welcome that conversation with the studio.
“While several studios continue to work to shut down modern parental filtering, many individuals within the industry have told us privately they support what we are doing. Our goal is to continue working with Hollywood to create an inclusive culture that makes entertainment good for everyone, and today’s decision was a step in the right direction.”
