Top of the Week: Pentecostal Pastor Dies After Daughter Sits on Her in ‘Prayer Position,’ Authorities Say
A Texas woman has been arrested in the Nov. 21 death of her 70-year-old mother, Pastor Gloria Farmer Jordan, whose death was originally ruled to be from natural causes, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Gloria Ann Jordan, 41, who has admitted to sitting on her mother in what she says was a “prayer position,” has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in the elder Jordan’s death.
Farmer Jordan’s obituary says she was “baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost at an early age at Christ Temple Blue Rock Holiness [Pentecostal] Church” in Vernon Hill, Virginia. Two years after moving to Wichita Falls, Texas, she and her husband, Elder Glossy B. Jordan, started the First Pentecostal Church in 1981. Her obituary says she “served faithfully and assisted her husband in any capacity she could” and “finally accepted the call to minister His word” in 1983. She was installed as pastor after her husband’s 2015 death.
Police responded to Farmer Jordan’s home in what was first believed to be a medical death, the Star-Telegram reports. But a follow-up investigation led to an autopsy after a family friend raised concerns. Police say the autopsy confirmed that Farmer died of “mechanical asphyxia” in what was ruled a homicide.

Teetering on a precipice can seem exciting until something comes along that knocks you over the edge. Unfortunately, the events of the past couple of years have perfectly set the stage for a global economic collapse of unprecedented size and scope. Inflation is out of control all over the planet, the worst global supply chain crisis since World War II continues to get worse with each passing day, and the vast majority of the global population is just barely scraping by from month to month. In other words, we have never been more vulnerable than we are right now.
Even in the United States, a shockingly high percentage of the population literally lives on the brink of financial disaster. According to a brand-new survey that was just released, seven out of every 10 Americans are currently living paycheck to paycheck:
In these tough financial times, a new study finds it’s getting harder and harder for people to save any of their money. In fact, seven in 10 Americans say they’re living paycheck to paycheck.
A recent survey of 2,007 adults found that 63 percent don’t see themselves reaching a level of financial security that will allow them to live the lifestyle they want.
For those believers who have lost all faith in the younger generation, you need to be tuned in to what is going on in the Huntington, West Virginia, area right now.
As the catalyst, Nik Walker Ministries is helping to stir up a revival in one area of that state that has not only the locals brimming with excitement but also has many throughout the country buzzing, as people are being saved and baptized into the kingdom of Jesus by the hundreds.
Chuck Lawrence, lead pastor of Christ Temple Church in Huntington where nearly a month-long revival has shaken the city, says the Holy Spirit’s work, through Walker is bringing hope to an area that has been decimated with hopelessness for decades.
Controversial Pastor Greg Locke has made good on his pledge to hold a “burning service,” with his congregation reportedly coming together Wednesday night to torch Ouija boards, copies of Harry Potter and other items.
Locke, the Global Vision Bible Church pastor in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, posted a video on his Facebook page last night that started with worship and preaching and ended with a massive fire held at the church.
“The devil doesn’t win,” Locke proclaimed at the start of the video.
It is not an understatement to call this a battle of good and evil; it literally is. And on Friday, Feb. 11, satanists from across the world will converge on Scottsdale, Arizona, and, for three days, conduct rituals, services, celebrations and more debauched and evil events. It’s SatanCon from Feb. 11-13. The satanists chose to locate their conference in Scottsdale as a pushback against the city for declining their request to deliver a satanic invocation before the Scottsdale City Council meeting.
The organizers of the satanic conference say that they want people to think of Satan when they think of Scottsdale. But this gathering of satanic followers is more than just payback to Scottsdale. The satanic church, with apparently over half a million members, is involved in civic activities such as pro-abortion lobbying—especially pushing back on the new pro-life legislation and sanctuary cities for the unborn in nearby Texas. The Satanic Temple After-School Satan Clubs meet in elementary and secondary schools across the nation. A new satanic streaming service being introduced will increase the reach of their beliefs, rituals and activities.
The SatanCon event is open also to the public, hoping to entice inquiring minds to open up to the products and activities in the SatanCon Marketplace. Visitors can also participate in the late-night “Impurity Ball” satanic ritual. No doubt there will be many people attending for the sake of spectacle and intrigue, and who may find that their curiosity comes at a price with the demonic activity summoned at an event such as this. {eoa}
