These Men and Women Are Traitors to the Constitution

Residents of Newton County in Georgia are upset this week, as local officials approved a new mosque and Muslim cemetery—reportedly without any public input, according to Fox News.

Dr. Alex McFarland, a nationally known pastor, religion and culture expert, radio and television host, and author of the new book Stand Strong America, has harsh words for those responsible for the approval of the mosque.

“City leaders who approved this mosque and cemetery are traitors to the U.S. Constitution,” he said. ” Islamist ‘community centers’ aren’t merely places of worship. They are recruitment and development sites for terrorists who are against everything for which America stands. The citizens have spoken and have said they don’t want these centers in their communities, yet zoning boards continue to approve them with no regard for their constituents.

“Not many elected officials will do what they were put in office to do—reflect their communities and stand up for them,” McFarland continued. “All elected officials should be concerned with national security and the preservation of the Constitution. And organizations like CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) and other Islamist groups are relentless until they get what they want. This is cultural jihad. We Westerners think of ‘jihad’ as military violence or aggression, but it is indeed cultural jihad that many are quietly waging.

“That’s why it’s so important that elected officials be vigilant,” McFarland concluded. “When leadership, such as in Georgia, ignores constituents and rubber-stamps Islamist ‘community centers,’ they are playing right into a worldview that lives and breathes the destruction of America and Israel.”

McFarland has been gathering responses for his “2016 Malaise Index,” an online survey that gauges Americans’ outlook on society.

While the survey is in its beginning stages, trends are evident. For example, when queried with the statement, “My outlook on the culture as a whole compared to 10 years ago is …” more than 96 percent reported they felt “worse” about the culture, while the remaining respondents answered that they felt “better” or “the same.”

McFarland says these responses are indicative of the general malaise, fear, frustration and feelings of futility, namely because, in some instances, Americans make their voices heard, yet the nation’s leaders don’t listen and do the opposite.

These issues tie back to the purpose of Alex McFarland Ministries and the study of apologetics—rationally, intelligently and lovingly defending beliefs, while sharing the truth of Jesus Christ in a culture that desperately needs it.

On Sept. 16, McFarland will lead a prayer rally at the “Heart & Soul: A Night of Prayer and Worship” event from 5 to 9 p.m. at Festival Park in Fayetteville, N.C. The evening rally and time of worship is a partnership between McFarland, Covenant Love Church and the American Family Association and is an opportunity to pray over our nation, our cities, the unified church in America and our military and law enforcement officers. The event is free and no registration is required (unless volunteering: click here).

“In helping to plan this amazing event, we have already felt God at work,” McFarland said. “Last year, more than 2,000 attended a night of prayer and worship in Festival Park, and we are looking forward to even more this year. There couldn’t be a better time for community members to come together for the sole purpose of petitioning God with prayer and praising His name. We look forward to an incredible night that will be the spark for revival across the state of North Carolina and our nation.”

McFarland recently released his latest book, Stand Strong America. Co-authored with evangelist and apologist Jason Jimenez—McFarland’s co-host of the Viral Truth television program, which airs on the National Religious Broadcasters network—Stand Strong America addresses the idea that Americans are weary of the poor character and decisions of their leaders, who make laws that may not coincide with many Americans’ faith.
