The True Meaning Behind the Popular Cry of This Christmas Season

OMG! These three letters are texted and posted by hundreds of millions, if not billions, of times each day. The phrase has sparked music, games, books, TV, films, science and political debates.

OMG!

Every day, many people say, “OMG” to express surprise, reverence, sarcasm, annoyance, concern and so many emotions without even thinking.

Yet, the psalm from Moses is genuinely an eternal promise that reveals “Oh My God!” Psalm 91, considered to be written by Moses, is one of the most read and quoted chapters in the Bible since the COVID-19 crisis.

The Lord will reward those who believe and trust the promise of this powerful passage.

Moses shows us that the refuge of the Most-High God is the place of intimacy. Psalm 91 reveals that the place where the Most High God dwells is actually at the core, the center, the throne of our heart.

God is above all.

God is the center of all.

God is my all in all.

Moses uses the word “my” throughout the psalm to reveal the place of power. In that place of intimacy where we belong, there is no fear, no weakness, and no condemnation.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

In this Christmas season, the baby born in a manger made it possible for me to meet the living God, for me to know Him and to be able to proclaim by His blood that He is my God.

Rejoice, shout and dance are names written in the Lamb’s book of life. We are His children; He is our God.

OMG!

You are beautiful; I see Jesus in you.

Have an awesome week. {eoa}
