Stephen Strang Says Christians Are in Peril and Must ‘Open the Door to God’
Stephen E. Strang, an accomplished journalist and the founder of Charisma Media, has just released “God and Cancel Culture: Stand Strong Before It’s Too Late.” The book’s timeliness is undeniable, as a runaway “cancel culture” is right now taking aim at those who believe in God and publicly profess their faith.
The danger to believers cannot be overstated. Strang, a widely read author and Christian businessman whose other books include “God and Donald Trump,” highlights the tenuous situation Christians find themselves in, given the vicious attacks coming regularly from a secular culture, especially during this time of pandemic. While some churches and faith leaders have affirmed their beliefs, others have caved to crass, unjust governmental policies—with dire consequences. Strang urges the faithful to heed God’s “knock” at the door.
Strang explains, “God has promised protection for the righteous. But everyone must listen when He stands and knocks at the door. God is in essence saying, ‘Just as others are delving into dramatic evil and wickedness, you can enjoy intimacy and righteousness with God, and a peace that passes understanding.’ But only if we open the door. That is when ‘tremendous blessings’ will come to the faithful in a ‘great revival.'”
“If there is a correspondence between difficulty and triumph, we may be in for something truly historic in the near future,” he also says. “Call it awakening; call it a hurricane of revival. Just be sure to pray for it to come.”
Strang shares this important warning as well: “Christians are in an unprecedented season of fragmentation, political division, and actual separation on many fronts. While the body of Christ is a big, diverse family, we must choose to cheer one another on, rather than allow ourselves to be divided. Christians must not lose heart. We must stand strong and not be intimidated. We must pray—and we must believe God for a great awakening.”
In clear, authoritative prose, Strang’s God and Cancel Culture features compelling interviews with an array of prominent leaders and does the following:
-
documents what is happening in the country right now;
-
shares how believers can respond;
-
explains why Christians can look to the future with hope;
-
helps readers understand that no matter how bad things seem, God always comes through.
Strang also says, “We need to understand that what we’re dealing with today is far more sinister than ‘liberal’ versus ‘conservative.’ We’re seeing the emergence of a uniquely American form of communism: at best, frightening, at worst, murderous—to biblical values, to our way of life, and to individuals it deems ‘less than.'”
God and Cancel Culture will help Christians realize the seriousness of the battle before them and illuminate the present circumstance for the purpose of doing good—to bring hope. It documents what is happening in the country, how believers can respond, and why they can look expectantly to the future. {eoa}
