Out and Proud Lesbian Harshly Rebukes Transgender Agenda
A lesbian activist rebuked trans activists for their harmful stances on children who might question their gender.
Miriam Ben-Shalom is one of the top names in LGBT activism. She was honorably discharged from the military in 1976 for her sexual orientation. She used her experience to battle the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” and eventually succeeded.
With her experience, one would be tempted to think Ben-Shalom is 100 percent behind letting a child choose his or her gender, allowing male athletes to compete as females or even pushing for a person to use the restroom that they feel corresponds to their gender.
Though she maintains an equality for all platforms, and because of her experience within the community, she knows exactly how devastating this transgender movement can be.
In an op-ed for the conservative The Federalist, Ben-Shalom writes:
Mainstream media outlets will continue to frame the issue as one of bigotry, and will shame those with the audacity to say what we all know is true. It’s time to loudly declare that the emperor has no clothes. A person may wear what clothing that person prefers. A person can say that she or he is whatever. Such a person ought to not experience discrimination.
But I ought not to be expected to believe that by some magic and lots of surgeries and chemicals that a man can be a woman and a woman a man. I, and all woman and children, should not have to put up with the shenanigans of those who insist that biology is “a social construct” but gender “is innate in a person” when the exact opposite is true.
Children should not be experimented upon by infusing them with puberty blockers to keep them from growing up. Children should not be operated upon and have body parts removed because they “feel” they are something other than what they are, should not be subjected to a lifetime of ill health because of Big Pharma’s chemicals.
Women should not be forbidden to use the correct terms for their bodies and bodily functions because such terms are “transphobic.” Transgender activists’ erasure of women is horrifying. Women, especially lesbians, should not be told they are haters if they refuse to sleep with males who identify as trans. Women and children should not be forced to deal with males in their spaces, whether it be locker rooms or bathrooms.
It’s not that all males identifying as trans are violent, but that laws currently allow any male who self-identifies as a woman to be admitted into female-only spaces. The rate of violence against women is rising around the world: 272,040 women were raped or sexually assaulted in 2016 in the United States. The rate of assault is rising in other countries as well.
Trans advocates often say that women can press charges against their assaulters. They fail to mention, however, that the very same laws protect trans-humans as well. We do not see male-only spaces being deemed “gender-neutral,” because some maintain this means trans people would be placed at risk of violence. But it is okay to put the burden on women and children to defend themselves?
These same arguments put this progressive lesbian on the same team as conservative family organizations in fighting horrific bathroom and locker room policies.
The American Family Association continues to boycott Target due to horrific policies that have put women and children at risk.
“Even after two years of negative headlines, plummeting stocks and decreased revenues, Target continues to put women and children at risk, refusing to reverse its open-door restroom and fitting room policy, thereby enabling voyeurs and predators to enter the facilities with no questions asked,” says AFA President Tim Wildmon. “Frankly, the risk is just too great to pick up a few picnic supplies at Target when just about any other retailer in the country carries comparable items. Some may say they don’t plan to use the restroom or fitting room while shopping, but by providing revenue to the retailer, they are indirectly supporting Target’s actions and corporate decisions. Additionally, we all must think about our friends, family members and neighbors who may shop at Target and be unaware of the risks. And we must continue to take action and come together to keep everyone safe and steer clear of Target altogether—both in stores and online.”
Cultural commentator and author Michael Brown continues to document the devastating effects of “transanity.”
In an article about parental pushback against the transgender agenda, Brown writes:
For boys to compete against girls is not fair and not just and not right. It’s about time somebody said something.
But the one comment that said it all came from one of the girls, Selina Soule, of Glastonbury High. She agreed that in certain areas, boys and girls should compete against each other. “Of course,” she said, “it should be that way for math and science and chorus.”
But it’s different when it comes to sports. As she said, “Sports are set up for fairness. Biologically male and female are different. The great majority is being sacrificed for the minority.”
Let’s repeat that last sentence one more time, since it’s the very essence of transanity: “The great majority is being sacrificed for the minority.”
This will not continue without a pushback.
May the opposition rise up and do the right thing. And may we continue to study the question of transgender identity, working for a compassionate solution to help people find wholeness from the inside out.
Dr. Michelle Cretella, president of the American College of Pediatricians, even said the transgender movement has led to widespread child abuse.
And yet the mainstream media continues to push for abuse in the name of equality.
It’s this position that worries Ben-Shalom, that advocates are intentionally harming minors and women in the name of political correctness.
“What I have written above is about things I have directly seen, read and experienced, not fantasy or pretend. Do you understand now why this is certainly not just about bathrooms? Do you understand now why this is not about trans humans being discriminated against, but is about something much more horrible and revolting: the chemical sterilization of children, the denial of basic human rights to women and children and the erasure of women? Do you still wonder why we do not want the law to allow such people in our spaces?” she writes.
