Kim Kardashian West Gets Baptized in Historic Armenian Church
Kim Kardashian West said she was “so blessed” when she was recently baptized in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, a historic church in Armenia.
West—media personality, model, business mogul and wife of famed rapper Kanye West—shared photos of her trip to Armenia on Instagram.
“Thank you Armenia for such a memorable trip,” she wrote on a series of photos of her and her daughter, North, in the cathedral. “So blessed to have been baptized along with my babies at Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Armenia’s main cathedral which is sometimes referred to as the Vatican of the Armenian Apostolic Church. This church was built in 303 AD.”
West’s trip comes shortly after her husband announced he was done producing secular music. From now on, he allegedly said, he only wanted to make gospel albums.
His upcoming album, Jesus Is King, features religious-themed lyrics, and according to The Fader, Pastor Adam Tyson even helped the rapper on the album.
Tyson recently opened up about his relationship with Kanye, saying he believes the celebrity’s faith is genuine and that “God is at work.” He claims Kanye “is living and walking with God. He’s in the Bible. He’s in prayer.”
Tyson, pastor of Placerita Bible Church in Santa Clarita, California, also teaches at Kanye’s “Sunday Service” events, which feature gospel music and teaching at various locations across the U.S.
