Hillsong Issues Urgent Call to Prayer After Worship Leader Rushed Into Emergency Brain Surgery
Hillsong worship leader Chelsea Lee Taylor was rushed to the hospital shortly after leading worship, according to several Instagram posts.
Hillsong co-founder Bobbie Houston posted Taylor’s picture on Instagram, urging her followers to pray:
“This is the beautiful young worship leader I mentioned [yesterday] … didn’t have the liberty to say more, but now she’s [through] that first stage, let’s uphold her. Many within our house will recognize her and want to pray. Thank you @hillsong family.”
Taylor reportedly was rushed into an emergency brain surgery that lasted nine hours, according to Cassandra Langton, who posted the original call to prayer on Instagram.
She wrote:
“HILLSONG CREATIVE— This is our @chelsealeetaylor at 8am yesterday— she’s a worshipper, a lover of Jesus and one of the purest hearts ever — and tonight she could do with your prayers. She has just come through a 9 hour brain surgery and we are believing for no more bleeds complete healing and miracles in Jesus name — we are not out of the woods by any means — tonight she is in ICU but we believe in Jesus, his resurrection power and for hope to appear (@zellataylor and all your family we are on your team ). #iloveus#ourpeople #praylikeshesyourstoo.”
Several prominent worship leaders commented on Langton’s post saying they were praying for Taylor, including Brooke Ligertwood and Mack Brock.
Bethel’s Jenn Johnson also reposted the call to intercession, eliciting prayerful responses from “Oceans” songwriter Taya Gaukrodger, Steffany Gretzinger and Pastor Paula White Cain.
Langton posted again on Taylor’s condition yesterday, saying that miracles are in motion. She says people from Costa Rica to Australia to France to the East Coast of the U.S. are interceding for the worship leader.
Langton also shared an update from Taylor’s mother:
“Chelsea pulled the life-support out last night. She is talking and trying to get out of bed. Honestly this is a miracle! The comment was said to me, the doctors aren’t saying anything! Praise our faithful God… She walked into church Sunday morning in her white sneakers! I am taking them into her room today as a declaration of faith that she is going to walk out of this hospital 100% healed in Jesus’ mighty name.”

Please keep Taylor and her family in prayer.
