Country Singer Granger Smith Sheds Light on Grief and Faith in New Movie
People who have walked through life’s toughest moments and have come out the other side with a stronger faith in Jesus carry a different kind of demeanor. One of those people is country singer Granger Smith, who lost his son River in 2019.
Smith is starring in a new movie “Moonrise,” which is now out on PureFlix and has already impacted hearts around the world. The movie is about a country music singer who pushes his family, fame and faith aside after the death of his wife. “It’s his daughter and a talented horse trainer who show him strength, forgiveness and grace to live life again,” PureFlix site says.
Filmed in Blanco, Texas, the eternal echoes of the movie are redemption, forgiveness, faith and family. “I remember getting this script back in November and I read the entire thing in one sitting on the porch swing. It’s special. I’ve never acted in this way, but I fell in love with the character and knew that I had to do it,” he posted on Instagram.
Smith lost his son to a tragic pool accident and experienced grief no parent should ever have to walk through. Granger and his wife Amber are now spreading their faith and hope in Jesus to the world around them.
“There is peace; there is rest on the other side of grief. You will feel joy again. In fact, you could fee joy now simultaneously with grief. You just don’t always see it because we got our face down, and we’re just kind of stuck,” he says in an interview with Christian Post.
“Moonrise” released on PureFlix on Dec. 15 and you can watch the movie here. {eoa}
