Amy Grant Hospitalized for ‘Observation and Treatment’ After Bike Accident

Contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Amy Grant has been hospitalized after a bike accident.

The accident, less than a week after Grant was named one of this year’s five Kennedy Center Honors recipients, occurred on Wednesday (July 27). She was taken to a Nashville, Tennessee, hospital.

“(S)he was wearing a helmet and taken to Vanderbilt where she was treated for cuts and abrasions, and is in stable condition,” Velvet Kelm, Grant’s spokeswoman, told Religion News Service on Thursday. “She was admitted & stayed overnight as a precaution and will be staying another night for observation and treatment.”

Fired Health Care Workers Settle COVID Shot Mandate Case for $10.3 Million

Today, Liberty Counsel settled the nation’s first classwide lawsuit for health care workers over a COVID shot mandate—for more than $10.3 million. The class-action settlement against NorthShore University HealthSystem is on behalf of more than 500 current and former health care workers who were unlawfully discriminated against and denied religious exemptions from the COVID shot mandate. The agreed-upon settlement was filed today in the federal Northern District Court of Illinois.

As a result of the settlement, NorthShore will pay $10,337,500 to compensate these health care employees who were victims of religious discrimination, and who were punished for their religious beliefs against taking an injection associated with aborted fetal cells.

This is a historic, first-of-its-kind class-action settlement against a private employer who unlawfully denied hundreds of religious exemption requests to COVID-19 shots.

Justice Alito Delivers Fearless Speech for Religious Liberty, First Since Roe v. Wade Overturned

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito spoke out for the first time since Roe v. Wade was overturned in a fearless oration and inspired speech that carries an eternal echo. At the Notre Dame Religious Liberty Summit in Rome, Alito emboldened the room to take a stand and fight for the religious liberty that is trying to be nefariously torn down.

The heaven-breathed speech was to awaken the hearts of men that religious liberty is facing a new challenge, a challenge of people turning away from the faith at a rapid pace and a society that now believes religion is no longer important.

“It’s hard to convince people that religion is worth defending if they don’t think it’s that important,” Alito says. In what many scholars are calling a post-Christian society in America, Alito voiced the importance of people of faith knowing why and how to defend liberty.
